The Engineer-in-Chief, PWD Library, established with execution of World Bank Project, MSR RTCP-II and decision taken by RSMP (Road Sector Modernization Plan) committee, in the year of 2015. It has always been striving hard to meet the expectations of its users. The PWD Library aims to support the Organization’s curriculum in producing technologically and socially blended best engineering practices for developing road & building infrastructure in the state of Mizoram and take up the challenges of physical and socio-environmental development of global standards.
The Library is well-managed and acts as the knowledge hub of the entire PWD. It has a rich and comprehensively high quality of information resources in the field of Roads, Bridge, Buildings, Architecture and Planning. It serves as a creative and innovative partner in supporting the planning; designing and executing of projects as well as in road research activities of the organization and contributes significantly to the Institute’s mission of engineering excellence. However, there has been a long felt need to bring clarity and uniformity in procedures and practices of the Library and resource center so as to further improve its efficiency, utility and services.
